What we grow

Nursery Plants

From pansies to apple trees, we grow it all. We carry a wide variety of flowers, vegetables, fruit trees, hanging baskets, and perennials, all carefully chosen for the climate of the North Coast. And, because we grow it all, we can tell you how to best care for it and keep it happy once you take it home.

Vegetable Starts

Broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, and lettuce start the year off, but are quickly replaced by peppers, cucumbers, squash, corn, beans, and 31 varieties of tomatoes.

Herbs

Most years we carry around 60 types of herbs. In mint alone we have 14 varieties including banana, chocolate, and strawberry.

Cut Flowers

One of the first products to come out of Blackberry Bog Farm was flowers and we continue to grow them today. We sell fresh cut flower bouquets at all of our markets during the blooming season.

Hanging Baskets

We make around 2000 hanging baskets a year. Early spring pansy baskets start us off, but are quickly replaced by gorgeous hanging creations of petunias, fuchsias, calibrachoa, and more. Want to try your hand a making your own basket? Check out our Build Your Own Basket Event in April.

Bedding Plants

Petunias, calibrachoa, pansies, snapdragons, salvia, and many more of your favorite annual flowers are all grown at Blackberry Bog.

Perennials

Whether you’re looking for a new blueberry bush or a rhododendron, we’ve got you covered. We carry fruits, ornamentals and native perennials for all of your landscaping or orchard needs.

Produce

At our farms in Svensen and Brownsmead we grow berries, vegetables, fruits, and cut flowers.

Fruit & Berries

In Svensen we have a two-acre orchard with grapes, apples, pears, plums, cherries, and peaches, as well as a variety of other fruits such as figs and hazelnuts. In Brownsmead we grow a couple acres of seascape strawberries, harvest starting in mid-May.

Our berries also get made into our hand crafted jams and jellies. Extra berries are lovingly crafted into delicious preserves that you can find at the farm stand.

Vegetables

We have around seven acres of fields that produce all manner of vegetables. Broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, and cabbages are some of the favorites.

We also grow a large selection of pumpkins, squashes, gourds, and corn.

Our vegetables can be found at the Astoria Sunday Market as they ripen for the season (starting mid-June)
